About Dr. Kalanderian

Dr. Kalanderian is a board-certified psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She specializes in treating adults with various mental health conditions including but not limited to clinical depression, treatment resistant depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders such as OCD and generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD and Schizophrenia.

Dr. Kalanderian is a California native and has spent part of her life in Beirut, Lebanon where she obtained her BS in Biology from the American University of Beirut and her MD from the Lebanese American University Medical School in collaboration with Harvard Medical International. As a medical student, Dr. Kalanderian was passionate about activism and focused on social medicine projects which aimed to study the social determinants of health and to improve access to health care for vulnerable populations such as refugees.

After medical school, Dr. Kalanderian worked for the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) to improve public health policies and access to health care for refugees. She then began her psychiatry residency at the St. Louis University where she was awarded intern of the year and was elected as one of the chief residents in her third year of residency.

Dr. Kalanderian then moved to the Pacific Northwest and practiced in Washington as an outpatient adult psychiatrist and eventually decided to move back to her hometown of LA and provide clinical care to patients in the greater Los Angeles area.

In her free time, Dr. Kalanderian enjoys playing the piano, hiking with her dog and spending time with family and friends.
